Design

Flexible Data Hall and Support Room Layouts

The 100×200 size makes it easy to divide the floor into functional zones. Many owners choose two or more main halls, plus support rooms for UPS systems, batteries, and switchgear, along with offices and secure loading areas. Steel framing and other steel structures give you long spans and simple roof lines, which support efficient data center design and clean airflow.

You can also plan separate entry paths for staff, customers, and deliveries. Wide overhead space makes it easier to hang cable trays, bus ducts, and containment systems without crowding. As your needs change, interior walls and doors can be adjusted with far less disruption than in traditional construction.

Power and Cooling

Built to Support Serious Data Center Power and Cooling

A 100×200 data center building is designed with heavy mechanical and electrical loads in mind. The structure can support rooftop or pad-mounted cooling units, large generator sets, and robust electrical rooms. This gives your engineering team the flexibility to design redundant feeds, backup building systems, and diverse power paths.

By pairing these structural features with good insulation and wall systems, you support energy efficiency and help the facility manage power use more effectively. Thoughtful placement of louvers, penetrations, and equipment yards helps the whole system work smoothly, protecting your gear and lowering long-term operating costs.

Reliability

Strong, Code-Compliant Shell for Mission-Critical Use

Your 100×200 data center steel building is engineered to meet local building codes for wind, snow, and seismic conditions. The rigid steel frame helps protect against movement and damage, even when the weather is severe. This strength supports uptime by reducing the risk of structural issues that could threaten your critical infrastructure.

Steel walls and roof systems are also a solid base for layered security. You can integrate secure entries, cameras, fencing, and mantraps knowing the building shell is built to last. For customers and partners who care about reliability, a strong, well-documented prefabricated steel building is a clear advantage.

Growth

A Smart Platform for Future Expansion

A 100×200 footprint is large enough for major capacity today, but it is also a smart building block for a bigger campus. As you add more customers or increase rack density, you can expand the building, add new phases, or repeat the design on another pad. Choosing pre engineered metal buildings as a steel building kit or complete steel building package makes it easier to plan expansion joints and future penetrations in advance.

These metal building kits and building packages give you a repeatable model you can reuse across different sites. Instead of redesigning from scratch, you can reuse a proven prefabricated steel building concept and efficient 100 200 steel buildings.

What You Need to Know About Roof Pitch

Selecting the ideal roof pitch for your metal building kit is an important decision that hinges on a few key considerations. If your area is prone to heavy snowfall, opting for a steeper roof pitch can help snow management. However, it’s important to balance this with the cost implications, as a higher pitch can increase the overall price of your building.

A 0.25:12 roof pitch strikes that perfect balance for most customers. This pitch is not only cost-effective but is as efficient in bearing snow weight as a 6:12 pitch. While a higher pitch can aid in shedding snow more quickly, remember that it comes with a higher cost. Our goal is to help you make an informed choice that aligns with both your environmental needs and budget, ensuring your building is both functional and financially feasible.
